Epsilon Chi Chapter | Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University

Membership in Sigma Kappa is not just for four years, it's for life.

Consistent with our Founders’ thoughts in 1874, our primary purpose is to create an environment for our members in which lasting friendships and our values of sisterhood emanate all aspects of our organization. We encourage an atmosphere which will foster high ideals of friendship among college women, promote their educational and cultural interests, create in them a true sense of social responsibility and develop in them high qualities of character.

Sigma Kappa is more than just a collegiate experience; it is a lifetime of commitment, support and opportunity awaiting you. It marks the beginning of a relationship that will last for a lifetime.

Our chapter of Epsilon Chi was founded on May 21, 1972, in Blacksburg, Virginia. We've come a long way from 1871, when Mary Caffrey Low became the first woman to be admitted to Colby, and later on went to found the first Sigma Kappa chapter at Colby College in 1874. Back then, chapter membership was limited to only 25 women, however, today we are SO lucky to have 178 amazing women in our Epsilon Chi sisterhood!

If you're interested in formal recruitment, please visit our recruitment page at the top of the page! Formal recruitment at Virginia Polytechnic Institute + State University takes place between January 14-20, 2019. The last day to register will be November 30th.
