Chapter Philanthropy

Sigma Kappa’s Annual Ultra Violet Nights philanthropy week is held annually each Spring. Stay tuned for more updates about the upcoming UV Week!

Sigma Kappa also participates in the annual New River Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Our chapter works year-round to raise funds and awareness to support the Alzheimer’s Association in their fight against this terrible disease. Last year, our chapter’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s team raised over $22,000 thanks to the hard work from our members. This year, our goal is to raise over $25,000. The link to donate to the 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer's is copied below: http://act.alz.org/site/TR/Walk2018/VA-CentralandWesternVirginia?team_id=458548&pg=team&fr_id=11577

We also partner with Warm Hearth Village, a local retirement home in Blacksburg. Each week, we visit and play bingo with the residents, and hold various events for the members of the home. We also host a Senior Prom Night with the residents, along with The G.E.R.M.A.N. Club at Virginia Tech. The night is fun and meaningful for both the residents and the sisters, and we look forward to seeing them every year.

As always, to remember our philanthropies all you have to do is spell SIGMA.
