Chapter Philanthropy

Sigma Kappa’s Annual Ultra Violet Nights was a huge success thanks to all of the contributions from our generous participants. Because of their attendance and participation in the Casino Night, Epsilon Chi was able to raise approximately $12,000 to be sent to the Sigma Kappa Foundation. The winner of the 2016 Ultra Violet Nights was Beta Theta Pi!

Sigma Kappa also participates in the annual New River Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Our chapter works year-round to raise funds and awareness to support the Alzheimer’s Association in their fight against this terrible disease. This year, our chapter’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s team raised over $22,000 thanks to the hard work from our members.

We also partner with Warm Hearth Village, a local retirement home in Blacksburg. Each week, we visit and play bingo with the residents. Each year, we host a Senior Prom Night with the residents, along with The G.E.R.M.A.N. Club at Virginia Tech. The night is fun and meaningful for both the residents and the sisters, and we look forward to seeing them every year.

As always, to remember our philanthropies all you have to do is spell SIGMA.
