Chapter Philanthropy

To remember all 5 of our philanthropies all you have to do is spell SIGMA.

S is for Sigma Kappa Foundation

I is for Inherit the Earth

G is for Gerontology

M is for Maine Seacoast Mission

A is for Alzheimer's Research.

Sigma Kappa’s Annual Ultra Violet Nights philanthropy week is held each Spring. This year Epsilon Chi's Ultra Violet Nights consisted of donation booths, a supply drive, percentage nights at Jersey Mike's and Moe's, a casino night, and a bubble soccer tournament! These events benefit the Sigma Kappa Foundation.

In order to support Inherit the Earth, we had a booth on campus for Earth Day handing out succulents and metal straws to encourage our fellow Hokies to develop sustainable habits!

We also partner with Warm Hearth Village, a local retirement home in Blacksburg. Each week, we visit and play bingo with the residents, and hold various social events for the members of the home, including a prom night in the spring. These events are fun and meaningful for both the residents and the sisters, and we look forward to seeing them every year. Through our visits with these residents, we are able to support our philanthropy of Gerontology

For the Maine Seacoast Mission, we held a food and goods drive and invited other Panhellenic women to join us in making donations. We were able to collect so many products to donate and we plan on continuing this in the future in order to continue supporting Sigma Kappa's first philanthropy!

Epsilon Chi also participates in the annual New River Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s in the Fall. Our chapter works year-round to raise funds and awareness to support the Alzheimer’s Association in the fight against this terrible disease. We are so happy that we are able to help the fight to end Alzheimer's in such a huge way.
